Afro-Caribbean Improvised Music Festival

Afro-Caribbean Improvised Music Festival
December 3-10
Music only exists through a creative process in which the desire to experiment pushes the boundaries of the imagination. Improvisation is the seed of every form of music. This is seen in the steps of a bomba dancer, the inspiration of the sonero and the musical conversation of the jazz musician…. Afro-Caribbean genres of music appeal to this improvisational element in multiple ways. This series of events celebrates the art of improvisation and its many variants.
The Afro-Caribbean Improvised Music Festival is made possible through a collaboration between Agúzate, IPRAC, Latin Street Dancing, Old Town School of Folk Music, Segundo Ruiz Belvis Cultural Center and Sound Culture.
