David Spadafora, President of the Newberry Library, and Javier Laguna, Director of UNAM Chicago, and will officially open this exhibition on the 100th anniversary of the Mexican Revolution.

Reflections on and Consequences of the Mexican Revolution (in Spanish or English)

Scholars from Mexico and the United States will consider the legacies of the 1910 Mexican Revolution. Salvador Rueda, who will give his talk in Spanish, will consider how Emiliano Zapata attained the support of peasants in the revolutionary cause. Juan Mora, who will present his talk in English, will examine Mexican immigration around the 1910 Revolution. Lecturing in English, Cesáreo Moreno will describe how the Mexican muralist movement influenced artists in the United States.
