Lived for about 19 yrs. in my beloved Aztec City, moved to Indiana in 1999 and been living here ever since. As a Latino I’ve been influenced by many cultural factors (Mexican and American) that changed my pursuit of the perfect image or the perfect moment. I am no longer dictated by trends or fashions, the unwanted becomes a dream before my eyes. Experimenting with light and purely aesthetic concerns regarding shape or color allow me to share a paused or temporary reality that is unseen by the naked eye. It was not until 2005 that I met Craig Sheaks (Photo Professor) at the IVY TECH Community College that I grasped the understanding of the PHOTOGRAPHIC ART. Photography helps me mediate the energy that will be portrayed on my subjects or places. Through long exposures, wide angle lense, light painting and alternative processes my images convey a surreal atmosphere.
High contrast permits the co-existential meaning of my art come alive in the same place at the same time.
Like Goethe had expressed:
“Where there is plenty of light there is strong shadow.

(Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe (1749-1832)
