Bossa Tres began in 1994 when Marcos Oliveira joined forces with Luciano Antonio to play in a samba group called Chicago Samba. After years of playing together, Luciano and Marcos realized they both had the same musical ideas. In 2003, Marcos joined Luciano again in another musical journey where both played in a group with a different musical style called Evanston Escola de Samba (today called Orquestra de Samba). Meanwhile in Brazil, Dill Costa was involved in several projects as a singer, director, writer, actress and participant in the Brazilian Carnaval parade as a Samba Queen. In 2004, Luciano and Marcos had an opportunity to see this beautiful and super talented singer, Dill Costa, perform at the Brazilian Festival in Chicago.

Today, Bossa Tres is building a solid reputation with their unique style and talented members. All three members have influences like: Antonio Carlos Jobim, Vinicius de Morais, Jorge Ben Jor, Chico Buarque, Djavan, Ivan Lins, Elis Regina, Guinga, Joao Bosco, Joao Gilberto, Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso, Zeca Pagodinho just to say a few names.
