Yveete is a Mexican American woman living in Texas. She worries her mother by becoming entangled in the arrest of her boyfriend who was caught selling drugs. Yveete is sent to the small town of San Eugenio in Mexico to live with her grandmother for the time being. Yveete struggles to fit in: while she always identified as Mexican American, she felt like an outsider in the U.S. where she was born, and in her ancestors land she feels like an outsider in Mexico. This film touches the identity issues—as one feels neither from here nor there.
Yveete, una joven México-americana de Texas, preocupa a su madre con la posibilidad de ser involucrada tras el arresto de su novio por la venta de drogas. Por esta razon, Yveete es enviada al pueblo San Eugenio en México, para vivir con su abuela durante un tiempo. El pueblo es pequeño e Yveete encuentra difícil encajar allí… ella siempre se sintió como una extranjera en los Estados Unidos, donde nació y ahora se siente como una extraña en México. Esta película trae a la luz temas de identidad –ni de aquí ni de allá.
