Ensemble Español Spanish Dance Theater Presents
“Concierto Familiar” Special Family Holiday Concert
The concert will highlight the full company and youth company featuring the romantic masterworks of Dame Libby Komaiko’s ‘La Era Romantica’(The Romantic Era) to the music of Manuel de Falla, Pablo Sorozábal and Amadeu Vives’ from la Zarzuela (light opera) ‘Doña Francisquita’; Irma Suarez Ruiz and Jorge Pérez will partner in Nana Lorca’s ‘En La Alhambra/Serenata’ followed by Paco Alonso’s folkloric suite ‘Alma de Aragon’, to the musical compositions of Tomas Breton with tenor Luis Galvez. The choreography of Komaiko / Alonso’s critically acclaimed ‘Zapateado’ will be followed by the company Flamenco premiere ‘Antes del Amancer’ (Before Dawn), choreographed by Irma Suarez Ruiz and ‘Escencia Andaluza’, by Dame Libby with classical guest musicians Brian Torosian, guitarist; Lyon Leifer, flutist; and Sylvia Myintoo, violinist.
Tickets are $25 general admission, $15 for seniors and alumni, $10 for children under 12 and students with ID. Group rates are available.
