Creando Fuerza: Cambio y Permanencia features a collective portfolio by members of Consejo Gráfico, an independent network of Latino printmaking centers.

Creando Fuerza: Cambio, y Permanencia (Creating Strength: Change, and Permanence) focuses on the print’s diverse origins and dimensions, as well as their cultural resonance within a broader national community of printmaking. Consejo Gráfico’s member print workshops formed a network to advance the legacy and viability of Latino printmaking in the United States.

The prints have been exhibited at Mexic-Arte Museum, Texas (2009) and come from various parts of the country including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, and New York. The art is very strong as well as beautiful. Over 20 prints will be on display.

Also…
Carlos Barberena, a Nicaraguan Visual Artist living in Oak Park, IL will share his techniques and will speak about print making as well as his work during a brief demonstration on his portable press.

His works will be available for purchase during the reception.
