Special Family Holiday Concert: Concierto Familiar

Concert highlights include favorites from the Ensemble’s extensive repertoire of classical, folkloric and Flamenco dances and music of Spain.
This year’s concert will celebrate and honor Dame Libby Komaiko’s 36 years of academic service as professor of Spanish dance in the department of music and dance at Northeastern Illinois University.
Concert highlights include Dame Libby’s critically acclaimed La Era Romantica (The Romantic Era) from Spain’s light opera suite, La Doña Francisquita to the music of Pablo Zorzabel and Amaden Vives, the passionate Danza del Fuego (Dance of the Fire) to the music of Pablo Luna and the breathtaking full company Flamenco Zapateado.
