Alvin Medina is a master of the Puerto Rican Cuatro who has played along side the best artists in the genre throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico and recorded the highly regarded “Mi Música Borincana”. Amazingly, this prodigy of the national instrument of Puerto Rico was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His uncanny skill has brought him to some of the most prestigious stages in the U.S. including Carnegie hall in 1995. He has been a featured artist in Chicago’s annual Cuatro Festival on several occasions. Members of the Olavarría family who are well known within Chicago’s Puerto Rican folkloric community will accompany him.
