PRAA proudly presents its inaugural exhibition at our new cultural center!
Loíza in Chicago is a travelling exhibition that explores the West African and Spanish history of the Vejigante tradition of Puerto Rico. This colorful exhibition features the art making of Caribbean costumes and masks, accompanied by the sounds & rhythms of Afro-Caribbean drums and dances that are central to the annual carnival celebration in the coastal town of Loíza, Puerto Rico.
Program partner AfriCaribe and other renowned cultural experts will conduct future scheduled music and dance workshops.
