The Harlem Quartet joins the Chicago Sinfonietta to present Harlem Renaissance.
The dynamic all-Black and Latino ensemble (Ilmar Gavilán, violin; Melissa White, violin; Juan-Miguel Hernandez, viola; Desmond Neysmith, cello) are all First-Place Lauretes of the prestigious Sphinx Competition. Their freshness, energy, and sheer talent will have you cheering.
The orchestra and quartet will electrify the stage with selections as varied as Michael Abels’ twenty-first century Delights and Dances and Zoltán Kodály’s gypsy-infused Dances of Galánta.
