How to Turn Your Art into a Career
Artists At Work Forum
December 18, 6 – 7:30 pm
On Thursday, December 18 from 6 – 7:30 pm the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs presents the Artists at Work Forum “How to Turn Your Art into a Career.” Paul Klein talks with artists Joyce Owens, Tony Fitzpatrick, Dawoud Bey and Juan Angel Chavez about strategies, techniques, and devises they use repeatedly, and about how they’d advise others.
The forum addresses what these artists do to have their art take care of them, the different strategies they employ, strategic career mistakes they’ve made, specific examples that they’ve used and jettisoned, and specific things that have worked for them.
The forum will be held in the First Floor Garland Room at the Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E. Washington Street. The forum is open to the public, and admission is free.
