Tour Mexico, South America and Puerto Rico with music and dance from our neighbors to the south. Inspired by music he heard in a Mexican dance hall, Aaron Copland’s El salón México borrows music from at least nine Mexican folk songs. Bernstein’s West Side Story features some of the most famous dance segments ever performed on Broadway and on screen. CSO Mead Composer-in-Residence Osvaldo Golijov’s Last Round incorporates rhythms and styles of the tango. Brazilian guitarists Sérgio and Odair Assad will bring Piazzolla’s Four Seasons of Buenos Aires to life.
Pre-concert activities start on hour prior to performance.
