Tuesdays starting November 9th:

7:15 to 8:15pm Beginner/Intermediate Technique and Drills – Various Palos
8:15 to 9:15pm Llamadas, Remates and Escobillas – Various Palos

Saturdays starting November 13th

10am to 11am Absolute Beginner Technique and Intro to Palmas (Rhythmic Hand Clapping)
11am to 12pm Beginner Choreography – Tangos

Sundays starting November 14th:

12pm to 1pm Beginner/Intermediate Technique and Drills – Various Palos
1pm to 2pm Llamadas, Remates and Escobillas – Various Palos
2pm to 3pm Back by popular demand, Cante & Palmas! – Flamenco singing and Hand Clapping drills.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:

Absolute Beginner Technique: A great introduction to flamenco, the class focuses on proper arm, hand and footwork technique as well as coordination exercises and turns. This class will also explore the notion of “compás” through rhythmic hand clapping technique and exercises. It is highly recommended that this class be taken along with Beginner Choreography (see description below).

Beginner Choreography – Tangos: For those with less than 1 year of experience, this class offers an introduction to all elements of flamenco choreography and its terminology: “llamadas,” “marcajes,” “remates,” etc. The “palo” or style of “tangos” will be used for this class. It is highly recommended that this class be taken along with Absolute Beginner Technique.

Beginner/Intermediate Technique: A minimum of 1 year of flamenco study is necessary to take this class. Technique exercises and drills involving footwork, marking steps and turns will be applied to various palos each week.

Llamadas, Remates and Escobillas: A minimum of 2 and a half to 3 years of flamenco study or teacher’s permission is mandatory for this class. Knowledge of various flamenco palos is also necessary for this class. Technique exercises will be applied to various palos each week.

Cante & Palmas: Great for guitarists, dancers, singers and those who are seeking a deeper appreciation and understanding of flamenco, this class will offer an introduction to various palos through singing and palmas. Each student will work at their own pace. Drop ins are welcome anytime! No previous experience with flamenco singing is necessary for this class.

Single class: $20

5 class package: $85 (must be used by December 12th)

10 class package: $135 (must be used by December 12th)

Cante package: $90 (all singing classes from Nov. 14th through Dec. 12th).
