Picante

Chicago’s best World-Latin-Jazz Ensemble.

PICANTE is a traditional yet modern Jazz-Latin-World music ensemble. It is traditional in the sense that it plays traditional Afro-Cuban, Puerto Rican & Brazilian rhythms but applies modern Jazz changes & techniques to those rhythms. PICANTE has worked with Edgar Winter and Grammy Award winning saxophonist Carlos Averhoff, formerly of Cuba’s premier Jazz & Latin fusion Band IRAKERE. With a pedigree like that, you can be assured that PICANTE’s soul, sound, & groove is guaranteed 100% danceable.
