This closing night concert of the 2009 Latino Music Festival will show the natural connections between the folk, popular and classical music of Brazil. Flavio Chamis, one of the most sought after Brazilian conductor/composer/arrangers in the U.S., will narrate and introduce the audience to two of greatest musicians from his country, Heitor Villa-Lobos and Antonico Carlos Jobim.

Band members are some of the top Chicago musicians such as Jim Gailloreto, sax; Steve Eissen, flute; Jeb Bishop, trombone; Ernie Adams, drums; and Erich Hochberg, bass, with special guest Neusa Sauer performing vocals. A pre-concert reception will be in the G.A.R. Rotunda, next to Claudia Cassidy Theater. The concert is presented in cooperation with the Consulate General of Brazil
